Forever Home Cemetery is a tranquil resting place on the grounds of the Humane Society of Logan County, Illinois in Lincoln, Illinois, one of the only cemeteries in the state where people and their pets can rest together, side by side. Come see us for a personal tour and choose the spot that feels right.

Forever Home Cemetery is a project of the Humane Society of Logan County, Illinois, laid out across about two acres on the shelter's grounds and planned for more than 1,200 plots over several phases. It is one of the only cemeteries in Illinois where people and their pets can be laid to rest together, side by side. Dreamed up by shelter volunteers in 2011 and approved by the City of Lincoln in 2012, it was envisioned as a dignified final resting place for people and the pets they loved, with its proceeds helping support the shelter and keep the grounds cared for, and a gazebo at its center for memorial services and gatherings.
Forever Home is a resting place for cremated remains. Families bring their loved one's ashes, and a single plot can hold the cremated remains of as many as four people or pets, so in Illinois, people and the pets they loved can rest together in one place.
"It's very hard to lose a pet. The last one I lost, I think I cried for six weeks. I loved my dog so much. They're like family." A founding volunteer, Forever Home Cemetery
