Forever Home Cemetery is a tranquil pet and people cemetery on the grounds of the Humane Society of Logan County, Illinois โ one of central Illinois's few places where pets and the people who loved them can rest together. Every memorial here also helps care for the animals still in our shelter.

Approved by the City of Lincoln in 2012, the Forever Home Cemetery, a division of the Humane Society of Logan County, Illinois, was laid out across about two acres behind the shelter, planned for more than 1,200 plots. It is one of central Illinois's few cemeteries where people and their pets can be laid to rest together. It was the vision of shelter volunteers who wanted a dignified final resting place for pets and people, with its proceeds supporting the animals still in our care and a gazebo at its center for memorial services and gatherings.
In Illinois, human and animal cremains can be interred together in one place. Each plot can hold the cremated remains of as many as four people or pets.
"It's very hard to lose a pet. The last one I lost, I think I cried for six weeks. I loved my dog so much. They're like family." Marilyn Wheat, co-founder of Forever Home Cemetery
Forever Home Cemetery proudly offers K9 burial plots for the Logan County / City of Lincoln K9 dogs, a dignified resting place honoring their service. Our thanks to Manley Monuments of Lincoln, who donated the memorial stone: "To honor & remember all faithful K-9 for their service."
For more information or to reserve a plot, give us a call or send an email, and we're glad to help. Visits to the cemetery are by appointment.
