Make a difference
We receive no tax dollars. Community generosity keeps our doors open, all gifts are tax-deductible, and 100% stays local.
Your donations go straight to the animals: veterinary care, surgeries, and the long-term stays of pets who need months to heal, plus food, vaccines, and the everyday cost of running a shelter our size. Those are real, ongoing expenses, with no tax dollars behind us.
๐ก For a gift this large, a check means we don't pay the card processing fee, so even more reaches the animals. (Card is welcome too!) See By check below.

๐ Supplies that run the shelter
Brand-new everyday supplies are a huge help and keep us running day to day. Drop them off during open hours; anytime is appreciated. Items we go through fast:
Paper towels, garbage & grocery bags, laundry detergent, bleach, dish soap, liquid hand soap, fleece blankets, towels/rags, cat & durable dog toys, collars/leashes/harnesses, and Greenie Pill Pockets.
๐ง Skills, services & equipment
A shelter always needs upkeep, and bigger projects sometimes call for a pro or specialized equipment. If you can donate building maintenance, a trade skill, materials, equipment, or expertise, we'd love to hear from you. Reach out and let us know how you'd like to help.
๐ข Businesses & sponsors
Local business support means the world to us. With your okay we're glad to thank sponsors publicly on our social media, and we have a few spots where we can display a supporter's sign. Get in touch and we'll find a fit.
๐ฅซ Pet Food Pantry
We help neighbors keep their pets fed and at home. Donations of pet food help keep it stocked for families who are struggling.
The pantry serves Logan County residents in need (proof of low income required), open Wednesdays 10am-2pm and Saturdays 9am-12pm.
โป๏ธ Aluminum cans
Drop cans at Lincoln Iron & Metal (1710 N. Kickapoo St., Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm; tell them they're for HSLC), or in front of our garage anytime.
๐๏ธ A legacy of local support
This shelter has been built by our community from the very beginning. The land was a gift from local businessman Gene Burwell of Burwell Oil Company, our original building was raised by students of Lincoln Community High School, and our dog isolation wing was funded by local businesses, individual donors, and countless hours of volunteer fundraising. Generation after generation, Logan County has shown up for these animals. We'd love for your family or business to be part of the next chapter. Talk with us about a gift, a sponsorship, or a project that fits.
